Mr. Lui Tuck Yew and the Consular Corps Visited SCA

When SCA is at the new starting point and in the new growth stage in the new semester, on the morning of February 14th, Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Ambassador of Singapore to China, together with officials from Singapore Consulate General in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Xiamen and International Enterprise Singapore, paid a visit to SCA. After one year, the ambassador visited SCA again, expressing his loving care for the SCAers, and expectations and blessings for SCA in the new semester.

At the Li Gate, representatives of the management members of SCA, representatives of Singapore teachers and student leaders warmly welcomed Mr. Lui and the corps. Representatives of student leaders sent flowers to express their warmest welcome to the guests.

Later, accompanied by representatives of teachers and students of SCA, Mr. Lui and the corps saw SCA’s operation of various courses for student development on the spot, including vibrant sports courses such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, basketball and football, and cultural and artistic courses such as calligraphy, drama and music, which carry the culture and can help students to improve creativity and aesthetic perception.

While visiting, the guests asked about how’s study and living of students going at SCA. The student representatives made a detailed introduction all the way by telling about the history of SCA creation, the colorful campus life, the growth of students and the honor of the SCA. The students won praise from the guests for their energetic, confident and generous manner.

The video of Mr. Lui's visit to SCA at the end of 2021 is played on the big screen of the Theater. It seems that the portrait of Kah Kee was unveiled just yesterday at the beginning of its founding. Today, more SCAers are striding confidently towards the future ambitiously.

School management team also introduced the key measures and support by SCA for students’ development to the guests. SCA fully respects the development needs of all the students, and is committed to provide students with a higher platform with hardware and software facilities and diversified and individualized development plans covering areas of academics, sports, art, morality and society.

SCA also encourages students to organize curriculum activities independently, and, in this process, helps students grow the sense of morality, improve their soft power and public-servant leadership, and enhance their sense of ownership and belonging to the school.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Lui Tuck Yew spoke highly of SCA and showed his great confidence in SCA’s role as a model for Sino-Singapore cooperation in the field of education.

He hoped that SCA, as an affiliate to Singapore Hwa Chong Family of Schools will continue, with greater determination, to explore and practice high-quality education based on Sino-Singapore integration, and cultivate more high-quality talents with global vision and trailblazing spirit.
