"Without idle time, culture cannot come into being."
Idle time is to leave blank, is to give enough space for students to develop their own interest and thinking. In Chinese painting, blank space is emphasized, and similarly in education, a blank is also needed. In other words, a good education is one that leaves blank. Leaving a blank space allows people to have time and opportunities to imagine and think, and ideals and hopes can be slowly cultivated.
The education of SCA does not require students to spend all their time in improving their grades, but rather to give them some free time to read, to play, or even to do nothing. In this way, their bodies and minds can relax, helping them find their own direction independently. On the weekly schedule, a time for blank space has been fixed, which is called "i-Time."
During the I-Time, students can choose to stay in the library or sports field, or they can make an appointment with the teacher to discuss, talk, self-study, discuss topics with their partners, carry out personal exploration projects, or even do nothing.
